To me, they run the office the way it should be run. Quite frankly, other offices, the receptionist doesn’t even look at you when you speak. I’m sorry to say, that behavior will turn me off to a doctor, if that’s the kind of office he or she wants to run . The staff at Ophthamology Associates is pleasant and they greet you when you come in. I arrived early but only waited a few minutes to be called in. Of course Dr. Aliprandis welcomes you with a smile and addresses any questions or concerns you may have. If you feel, for whatever reason , you need to find a new Ophthalmologist you should check them out. You’ll won’t need to look any further.

Dr. Aliprandis It's a caring Doctor who takes his time to Listen and understand your concerns. The technicians are great. However the front desk lacks training on how to deal with patients , patients needs, Patients privacy HIPA and Respecting the patient's time.

Dr. Rusu was very professional and friendly, and took time to listen even though the actual visit was short. My prescription did not go through to the pharmacy (some technical glitch) and the office staff were very helpful in resolving the issue. Overall a positive experience.

Dr. Rusu is great but the ridiculously long wait time makes me think twice about recommending the practice. I was seen for pre screening about 20 mins after my appt time-easy to forgive. That said, I was then sent back to the waiting room for over an hour waiting to see the doctor. Once called in to see her, it was another 10 minutes wait time and then a 5 minute consultation (which would be fine if it didn’t take place 2 hours post my appt time). This practice is clearly over scheduled and has been for a long time.

His staff across the board are equally impressive with their ability to convey competence, precision and accuracy. Dr. Elias was the ultimate professional. He knew his craft and was insightful in providing me information about my situation. Despite the wait in the waiting room, Dr. Elias took the time to examine and answer all my questions.

I had an urgent appointment with Dr Irene Rusu on June 25 2024 due to extreme eye pain. During my chief complaint she interrupted me while I was describing my concerns; checked for a corneal scratch; did not dilate my eyes; instructed me to return over a week later for a full eye exam; and diagnosed me with dry eye. I am so glad that I did not follow her medical advice. I instead searched for another ophthalmologist who saw me the next day. They took my complaint seriously and then insisted that I see a neuro ophthalmologist after a full eye exam, dilating my eyes, completing a vision field test, Ishihara test, etc. As a result I was hospitalized and treated for optic neuritis. Dr. Rusu was dismissive and her lack of attention to detail led her to horribly miss a critical diagnosis in my case.

I travel from New Jersey to see him. We had really good experience. Dr Elias is very knowledgeable & experienced eye doctor. He explained everything in detail with the help of visuals. The whole team was very professional & accommodating. Only thing that was bit unpleasant was long wait time. I waited too long for my final exam. Everything else was pretty fast. I still recommend Dr Elias to anyone looking for good Opthamologist.

Although I like the doctor as well as his staff, the wait times to get in to see him are off the charts! It seems his appointments are always overbooked. I don’t understand why you need to wait sometimes more than three hours to get in to see him for all of five minutes. It’s quite frustrating!

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a negative review about this practice because of the long wait time. Within 10 minutes of it posting I received a call from Dr. Aliprandis the owner of the practice. I was very impressed with his gesture and apology. He scheduled an appointment time that would be convenient for both of us. True to his word he saw me and took care of my problem. He was kind and efficient explaining everything he was going to do during the procedure. The ladies in the reception area are polite and greet the patients upon their arrival. I especially appreciated the helpfulness and kindness I received from Monica.

I posted a negative review last Saturday and within 10 minutes of the post Dr. Aliprandis, the owner of the practice called me to apologize . I was impressed with his gesture. He also made arrangements for me to see him personally at a time convenient for both of us. I met him on Tuesday and he took care of my problem with care and kindness. He explained everything as he did the procedure. The ladies at the front desk were polite and greeted the patients as they came in. Monica was especially kind and helpful.

Come as early as possible. It is a busy practice and waiting times increase with the number of patients waiting to see the doctor. The quality of care and expertise is very good and for this reason it is a busy office.

The staff and the nurse assistants are caring and friendly. I spent most of the time interacting with them. The visit with the doctor took less than 15 minutes because all the pre- tests were done by the nurse assistants. Although the process is lengthy (I am a new patient) I am very satisfied with them.

I have been afraid to have cataract surgery for years because so many friends who were not happy with the outcome or the choices in selecting the lenses that fit their need. When I went to Dr. Aliprandis based on the recommendation of my friend, he discussed with me my eye condition and which lens it best for me. I told him about my fear of side effects and he explained to me which lens is best for me. He was honest and professional in his recommendation. I highly recommend him and recommend his staff which include the nurse, the optometrist and the front desk staff. They were excellent in their help and care.

This was my first time meeting Dr Rusu. My doctor was not in the office. I went there without an appointment because I was experiencing pain in the eye that I had surgery on 3 weeks ago. She examined my eye, knew exactly what was wrong, and told me what I am to do. I came home, followed her instructions, and the following day I was pain free. Thank you Dr Rusu.

The experience with all the assistants within the office was superb. They were personable and compassionate. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about Dr. Rusu. My appointment started at 11:30 and I was finally seen by the doctor at almost 1:30. The doctor entered my room and I said hello. She immediately responded “hello, sir.” There is nothing about me that suggested that I’m a man. I don’t take offense but instead worry about the attentiveness not provided by this Dr. She seemed overwhelmed, or even bothered by having to serve me, and dismissing my concerns I had for my eyes and the fact that I sat for almost two hours waiting to see her. She even tried to defend well you checked in at 11:37. It was almost argumentative, especially when I said I checked in at 11:28. If it weren’t for the wonderful service provided by the others in the office, I would have given one star.

I've been going to Ophthalmology Associates for over 30 years seeing Dr. Stephen Conrad as my primary ophthalmologist until his retirement. The staff and personnel in this medical office are professional, efficient, knowledgeable and empathetic. Several months ago I had a consultation with Dr. Elias Aliprandis regarding my having cataracts in both eyes. I have yearly checkups and I had known, for some time, I would need cataract surgery. I had a very thorough and informative consultation with Dr. Aliprandis. He explained, in great detail, the actual procedure. as well as the pre-operative process and the postoperative process. Both cataract surgeries were done at Brook Plaza Ambulatory Center which was equally as professional as Ophthalmology Associates. Dr. Aliprandis explained the procedure before the surgery and kept me apprised during the actual surgery. He is extremely professional, caring and detailed. I highly recommend Dr. Aliprandis; he is a highly skilled surgeon and I'm very pleased and excited with the results of my surgery.

Not only did Dr Aliprandis see me in an emergency, when I went to the er because it was a Sunday, he called to check on me while I was there and told the doctors to call him if they needed information. I can't express how impressed am and have been with Dr. Aliprandis

My appointment was fine - thorough and was treated well. Dr. A took his time to answer my questions. Just had to wait quite awhile beyond my appointment time before i was called.

I came in as an emergency, I was seen by the technicians soon after, then shortly after that I was seen by Dr Rusu, she examined me and gave me my diagnosis, she explained thoroughly of my condition and answered all my questions. I was very satisfied.

I was very pleased with Dr. Rusu. She explained what the primary condition was and other factors that were concerning. I recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Aliprandis. During my follow-up visit, I told him that he has an amazing office staff in Bay Ridge and surgical staff at Brook Plaza Ambulatory Center. They are kind, courteous, and highly professional. As for Dr. Aliprandis, I think the world of him as well. Last year, he diagnosed and treated a condition that other doctors missed. For this surgery, he arranged for me to get transport home since I did not have anyone to accompany me home from the facility. I am both impressed by his work and grateful for his kindness.

My experience with the staff was great. Everyone was knowledgeable and patient in answering questions. The time spent waiting to be seen however is unacceptable. I was in the the office for 2.5 hours with only about 20 minutes of actual hands on interaction with the techs and doctor. If I have an appointment at 1:30 and my first interaction with staff is 3:30 is disappointing and concerning

I’m a new patient and hoping to be a long lasting one in the future. I found the office to be efficiently run. I saw Carmen, who ran tests on my eyes, and was very professional. Dr Aliprandis, who is the ophthalmologist, he explained everything to me and listened to my questions and answered them with knowledge. Then I saw Stephanie, who was sweet and very patient. All in all I walked out feeling it was a positive experience. I’ll be getting cataract surgery and will post more after I heal.

Waiting time is a bit too much. Otherwise, the technicians and the doctors are excellent.

Providing shades after the eye drops would help patients against UV rays, especially on sunny days.
