I was very pleased with my visit today everyone was pleasant

Dr. Aliprandis is thorough, highly knowledgeable and knows how to explain opthalmogical concepts in a layperson’s terms. He is also a concerned and very compassionate doctor. In the past he has diagnosed conditions that other doctors misdiagnosed. When I had my cataract surgery, he helped arrange for my transport home since I had no one to pick me up. He’s one of those doctors who cares deeply about his patients, and shows it in kindness and in his high-standard care.

Dr Al is super professional, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and very pantience with patients. We been seeing Dr Al for 10 years and will continue!! And very friendly technicians and front desk staffs!!!

Everybody was nice and pleasant and friendly, their desire to help me to fill to complete each one of the of the examination procedures was also very understanding and considerate, especially when when the Irish brought in Brianna to help me hold open my eyelids because I couldn’t do it on my own, I couldn’t control my blinking I especially found Dr. Elias to be very friendly. He talks kind of fast but he friendly and I just hope that when the time comes, I go through this procedure. Nothing happens and I don’t go blind

Was at office to have a checkup. Reception was easy and quick Probably waited about 10 minutes for a tec to call me for preliminary tests Carmen was excellent and explained all of what she was doing. Got there thinking I may need cataract surgery but I have an eye that had a detached retina a few years ago which required emergency surgery so I thought it prudent to first have my eyes examined before going through the 10 machines of test pre op. When I got there I didn't se the dr I was out through a myriad of eye tests to the time of a few thousand dollars paid by my insurance. Still, it was a waste because by the time I saw the Dr at the end of the testing, I lost faith in him as an eye dr for me. I would have e preferred to meet him first and get an eye exam and then decide if I wanted to proceed with him. My insurance wasn't going to pay twice for the same tests with another eye surgeon and why should they? He told me I would need to upgrade to the laser procedure that given my retina surgery it would be better for me. But everything I read said the opposite. He also suggested the multi focal lens that insurance does not cover but I also read that given my retinal reattachment in my right eye I would not be a candidate for it. As it happened we changed insurances allowing me to start the process again. I went to another Eye Dr/surgeon in Bayridge who told me the opposite of what Dr. Aliprandis told me. In fact this other dr referred me to a retinal specialist for clearance for cataract surgery before even discussing the surgery with me. I got real eye exams where they thoroughly determined my eye issues before discussing cataract surgery. At this practice I felt like I was on a cataracts conveyor belt put through the same cycle as the 50 other people in the waiting room who all went through the same process. My new eye dr even suggested it wasn't his decision if I needed the surgery and that it was my decision. If it bothered me enough to have the surgery then he thought that made sense but that some people choose to live with it and that's absolutely fine to not have the surgery. I am having the surgery later this month and doing the bad eye first and then will see if the other eye with less advanced cataracts is even necessary. The retinal specialist noted scar tissue from the reattachment that could make the cataracts surgery outcome a bit less successful but that I should do the cataracts first and only if necessary after to have that tissue removed. And my surgeon and retinal specialist were on the same page about all of it. And now I'm getting letters to pay a $60 copay on top of what my insurance paid which would normally be fine but to me feels like such a money grab. Not a good experience at all.

The office wait sometimes can be an hour or more, but it is worth the wait. The great majority of his office staff is friendly and helpful. I was very concerned when I heard I had a retinal tear in my left eye. After a thorough examination by Dr. Rusu she said it was slight, that it should be watched, and that it may have been there for a long time. She wanted me to come back in 2 weeks for another checkup. I had scratched my eye and after calling the office I was squeezed in for an appointment. I was very thankful because I was in some pain. Doctor Aliprandis looked at my eye and prescribed some medicine that I could pick up at my local drugstore. He assured me my eye would heal by the following day which it did. I have just received a bill for $174.88 for a procedure that I believed was covered by my insurance. At no point did anyone advise me that coverage was uncertain or suggest verifying benefits before proceeding. Shouldn't someone in the office have taken the time to confirm coverage or at least inform me that I could be responsible for the cost? Until now, I had chosen not to focus on my experiences with the front desk staff, however, in addition to being loud, rude, and condescending toward patients, they have consistently demonstrated poor communication and inefficiency. This billing issue is simply the latest example.I cannot believe the series of problems I have experienced with this practice. Ultimately, this is your office, and responsibility for the patient experience rests with you. The repeated mistakes, poor communication, and lack of professionalism have made this an extremely frustrating experience.What makes this particularly disappointing is that this follows previous issues that were serious enough to warrant an apology. After my negative experience with Dr. Mariya Gurvich, I appreciated the apology from Dr. Aliprandis, and hoped things would improve. He apologized for the situation, acknowledged that I should have received my contact lenses, and spent about 10 minutes on the phone addressing my concerns. He was professional, detailed, sincere, and genuinely interested in making things right. While I was disappointed by what happened during my original visit, I was extremely impressed by the way Dr. Aliprandis handled the situation afterward. It's rare these days to see a doctor take the time to read patient reviews, personally reach out, and ask, "How can I help?" That level of care and accountability says a lot about both the doctor and the practice. He even offered me another appointment, which I plan to accept because I believe he is a great doctor who truly cares about his patients. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the way they are handled matters. I greatly appreciateDr. Aliprandis' courtesy, professionalism, and commitment to patient care. First, I want to say that my initial visit with Dr. Gurvich was very positive. I explained that my primary reason for coming in was to renew my contact lens prescription, as I only had the contacts currently in my eyes and was concerned. She was attentive and also addressed a few additional eye-related concerns. She advised me to temporarily stop wearing my contacts, begin treatment for dry eyes, and return in one month. I followed all of her instructions carefully. At my follow-up appointment, I again explained that I needed my contact lens prescription renewed. Dr. Aliprandis has handled this for me in the past, and my family has been patients of his practice for many years. Unfortunately, the second visit was extremely disappointing. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 AM, but Dr. Gurvich did not arrive until approximately 9:30 AM. When I was finally seen, I politely asked again about renewing my contact lens prescription and even brought my previous prescription from Dr. Aliprandis for reference. Although she had previously indicated that we would revisit the matter at the follow-up appointment, she abruptly refused and stated that she could not renew it. What upset me most was not only the refusal itself, but also the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which it was handled. We had already discussed this issue during my prior visit, and I had even contacted her other office before this appointment to remind her about the prescription. As a patient, I expected clearer communication, professionalism, and at least some effort to provide guidance or an alternative solution. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and disappointed. Dr. Aliprandis is highly respected, and my family has trusted this practice for many years. Because Dr. Gurvich is part of that practice, this experience unfortunately reflects poorly on the office as a whole. Based on my experience, I would not recommend seeing Dr. Gurvich

I was extremely nervous about having cataract surgery since I lost my vision in my right eye when I was a child due to congenital cataracts and glaucoma! Now my left eye needed the surgery! He performed the surgery last year and the surgery was successful. My vision improved and my glaucoma level is lower. The doctor is wonderful, but I waited 2 1/2 hours to see the doctor so that has to change. They are overbooking appointments.

I’m a patient in the clinic but will not come back, came for a walk in which they approved but when i came in the technician and the Doctor was surprised and rude , that i came in for a red eye, telling me in short that my problem is nothing compared to others and that they are very busy . I don’t think i deserve this treatment, i waited for 2 hours which i don’t mind but giving me a nasty attitude is not acceptable, and the doctor forgot to send my prescription coz she was in a rush to finish seeing me…

Dr. Aliprandis is fantastic. He has been my regular eye doctor for several years and he diagnosed my slow growing, early onset cataracts. They run in my family so I wasn't completely surprised, but it was still a nerve wracking diagnosis. When it came time to have the surgery Dr. Aliprandis made me as comfortable as possible, explained very clearly what needed to happen and performed the procedures himself. He is meticulous, transparent and good natured. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Initially, I would say the whole experience from the time I walked into the office was excellent! The staff at the front desk were professional and pleasant! The assistant doing my eye tests was the same! She gave you the feeling that you were in good hands! He listened and then had his surgical scheduler come in who went over everything and made an appointment for me once again in a manner that made you feel extremely comfortable! I came in for a cataract consult. The 2 technicians had some trouble taking measurements and had to call another Colleague for instruction. Prior to this, one of the technicians said she was doing this all day and walked away. Knowing that precise measurements are necessary I asked to be rescheduled. The technician said no, it’s ok, we have it now. The doctor came in and said the cornea test was not done correctly and he had to re-do and show the technician. I felt the technicians were somewhat unprofessional and inexperienced. However Dr. Aliprandis explained everything clearly and I know I am in good hands. I am very confident the cataract surgery will go well The staff at the front desk were very accommodating . I would recommend this doctor to others.

Answered my questions until I understood the answers and was not insistent about my scheduling procedure but explained the pluses for early schedule in and understood why I was reluctant to schedule right away.

My appointment was for 9:30 A.M. After only 15-20 minutes, my name was called. An assistant took my vital eye exam, including giving my eyes the drops to dilate my pupils. After about 20 minutes, the usual time to wait for the eyes to dilate, Dr. Aliprandis examined me. By 10:45, I was on my way home.
